Honda introduced the Ridgeline in the U. S. in 2005 with the midsize pickup truck market in mind. But Ridgeline's structure was more that of a special utility truck with unibody styling, built on the Pilot crossover platform. Ridgeline accommodates cargo weighing 1,500 pounds, with a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. Ridgeline's best year since launch was 2006, but it's only been downhill since then -- from 2006 to 2014, sales have fallen a whopping 73%. Through June of this year, Honda sold only 534 Ridgeline units. The truck's unibody structure was a big problem. Last but not least, the Ridgeline didn't impress customers with its towing capacity and fuel efficiency when compared to other key players in the category.     "It has been a very dependable vehicle, never been in the shop. I put on a k&n cold air intake and changed the muffler to a more free flow type. other than that that's it. The only thing I don't like about it ride is a little rough."

    "2009 Canyon SLE 4cyl 4WD. No major repairs after 150000 miles.The ride is as comfortable as any full size car. I live in the Ponoco mountains where the roads are very steep. The truck struggles a bit climbing these roads. On level roads the 4 cyl engine is fine. I would definitely recommend a 6cyl engine. I Get about 20 mpg."

    "I've had this truck for 11 years and driven it everywhere. It has been very reliable, both as my main vehicle and then as my daughter's first vehicle. Only major repair - replacing the transmission a few months ago at around 170,000 miles."

    Review

    I bought this truck new in Oct 2004. My review from Jan 06 remains true. This truck has been outstanding. The fit and finish on the interior is fine, the exterior has held up perfectly. It is very well powered, and a pleasure to drive. Does great in Michigan winters. Even better with new Dick Cepek FC-II tires. I've hauled many loads of wood, pulled a small boat, traveled with family of five and never been let down. The only two issues have been the theft deterance went out (minor), and the drivers window regulater died ($300) I have 86k miles and plan to put on many more.

    Best Features

    Fuel economy, drivers legroom and headroom, handling is good, and performance is above average.

    Worst Features

    Inline 4.2 six cyl, or a turbo (clean) diesel option. 8 ft bed option on reg cab. Bose stereo like wifes envoy. (I'm jealous)
