Linked to a six-speed automatic transmission, the engine enables both models to offer a trailering capacity of up to 7,700 pounds (3,492 kg) for 2WD models and 7,600 pounds (3,447 kg) for 4WD versions. According to General Motors, it's their cleanest diesel engine ever and this was achieved by implementing a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. The engineers also worked to lower noise and vibration levels by mounting within the torque converter a device called Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber (CPVA). Everyone I know buys the diesel over the petrol version more for the towing capabilities rather than fuel mileage so I don't think that trying to make it pay for itself with fuel economy is not the mind set to take for utes. Figure a 33% increase in efficiency, and diesel/regular gasoline price parity (in my area they are currently priced the same, but historically diesel is priced higher than regular) At 32 MPG highway, the diesel requires 125,000 miles to break even. This does not include additional money for AdBlue fluid (if required), and does not include additional money if diesel returns to a higher price than regular gas. This year, 1,846 Jeeps packed the Daytona International Speedway on April 26 and outdid the BHJF record. After thorough research and hours reading other riveting records, it was discovered Florida is also home to the Guinness World Record holder for the Farthest Distance Skateboarded by a Goat. Jeep Beach 2015, the annual event hosted by the Mid Florida Jeep Club, has been gaining popularity for 12 years, cultivating a specific style of 4-Lo fun that is different from the gargantuan rockcrawling available out west. In a way, the five-day weekend was about letting the Jeep flag fly (there were many on the beach, each one bigger than the last). Much of the weekend took place right on the beach of Daytona Shores, where one could pay a small fee and park a been-around CJ next to a mall-worthy JK right on the sand and make friends.
