Wrongful death lawsuits filed by the families of three city residents killed in a crash on Interstate 95 last year claim the driver of a tractor-trailer that rear-ended the car they were traveling in was negligent, reckless and driving with... Baughnita Leary, of Meriden, was driving a Nissan Sentra on I-95 in Waterford on Oct. Her two children, Sanaa Reynolds, 9, and Dacari Robinson, 3, were buckled in the back seat and her boyfriend, Darin Robinson Jr. ,was in the front passenger seat, according to police. The impact killed Dacari Robinson instantly and critically injured his sister, Sanaa, and father, Darin Robinson. In June, Leary filed a wrongful death suit on behalf of Sanaa Reynolds and Dacari Robinson. All three lawsuits were consolidated into one lawsuit seeking monetary damages from Dube and Gold Medal Bakery. Last month, Lauren Davis, who represents the estate of Darin Robinson, also filed a wrongful death suit against Dube and Gold Medal Bakery. Attorneys representing Leary, Davis, Dube and Gold Medal Bakery weren’t immediately available for comment. Two arrested after first evading officers - The San Diego Union-Tribune

A driver and his passenger were arrested early Saturday after the motorist rammed Coronado police cars while trying to drive onto the island’s naval base, authorities said. Shortly before 5 a. m. , Coronado police spotted the car, a gray 1994 Nissan Sentra, going 81 mph in a 50 mph zone, the department said. As Coronado police officers approached the car, the driver again rammed it into patrol cars, authorities said. Officers were able to arrest the 18-year-old driver, a Tijuana resident, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, evading police and resisting arrest.
