2015 Ford F-150 Sport Mode Adds To Aluminum Truck's Performance - Four Wheeler Network

The Engineers at Ford are taking advantage of the weight savings the aluminum 2015 Ford F-150 offers with the addition of Sport Mode. Since the development of the Mustang and the 2015 F-150 shared a similar time line, engineers often drove both vehicles during development leaving them wondering if Sport Mode could be adapted to the F-150. Ford Transmission Calibration Engineer... Once the truck is in Sport Mode the frequency of gearshifts changes allowing the truck to stay in the “Sweet Spot” by holding lower gears longer that make driving more spirited with seat-of-the-pants acceleration and less upshifting. When combined with the changes in the six-speed transmission, Ford says Sport Mode feels similar to what an aftermarket programmer might add while still keeping the factory warranty. Sport Mode comes standard on every 2015 engine and can be engaged in 2WD, 4WD auto and 4WD high giving every driving enthusiast an improvement in acceleration and performance on- and –off-road. Truck runs off the road, damages home in Monroe County - WFMZ Allentown

A wayward pickup truck damaged a home Tuesday afternoon in Paradise Township. Pennsylvania State Police with the Swiftwater barracks report that a Ford F150 was driving west on Woodland Road near Route 611 just before 12:30 p. m. Tuesday, when the driver veered off the left side of the road. Police said the truck struck a home, causing "substantial damage," before crashing into a tree, according to a police report. His truck sustained heavy damage and was towed from the wreck. Police did not indicate why Star's truck ran off the road. Alleged drunken driver hits trees in Mendham Twp. - Daily Record

A Freehold resident was charged with driving while intoxicated and obstruction of justice after, police said, he smashed his pickup truck into trees on East Main Street before dawn Thursday and then refused to be taken home by a responsible adult. Police Chief Steven Crawford said an East Main Street resident in the Brookside section of Mendham Township called police to report a crash Thursday at 4:33 a. m. When police arrived, they determined that Richard Reyes, 30, of Freehold, was... He's lucky to be alive," said Crawford, who noted that the vehicle was cut apart in order to extricate Reyes and is "totalled. " The chief said that Reyes suffered only minor scrapes and bruises. Police learned that Reyes had just left the home at 14 East Main Street and traveled a few yards before veering off the road by 10 East Main Street. As required by "John's Law" when dealing with an intoxicated driver, police contacted a responsible person who was willing to pick Reyes up but Reyes refused to go with the person, Crawford said.
