A Freehold resident was charged with driving while intoxicated and obstruction of justice after, police said, he smashed his pickup truck into trees on East Main Street before dawn Thursday and then refused to be taken home by a responsible adult. Police Chief Steven Crawford said an East Main Street resident in the Brookside section of Mendham Township called police to report a crash Thursday at 4:33 a. m.
