The latest F-150’s newly-available 2. 7-litre EcoBoost V6 uses twin turbochargers instead of more, larger cylinders to generate 325 horsepower and a manly 375 lb-ft of torque. As such, when you leave the trailer at home, you’re just going to Sears, you’re cruising the highway in no particular rush, or you’re inching slowly through the Timmies drive-thru, engines like this one burn less gas in their smaller, fewer... Call it EcoBoost, or whatever you like, but the principle is the same — off-loading power output to a turbocharger system allows an engine to burn less, more of the time. Remember: torque is the important figure when you’re moving something heavy, and this new little EcoBoost engine has heaps of it. Hammer down, and this iron-block powerplant revs to the moon, passing 6,000 revs eagerly while breathing nicely and... And this is the little EcoBoost V6. There’s a bigger one available, with 3. 5 litres and twin-turbo making it 365 horses and over 400 lb-ft of off-idle torque. In trucks, they especially want choices that don’t make them pay for capability they don’t need when it comes time to fill up. One of my favorite trimlines for the 2015 Ford F150 is the FX4 package and I had hoped to see it return for the 2015 F150. The current (2014) FX4 features a unique look with black cues from front to rear, presenting a dark, sporty look that I love. I had a 2013 FX4 test truck in dark red with black accents and I absolutely loved how it. The current FX4 F150 is, in my opinion, one of the best looking trucks on sale today. Introducing the 2015 Ford F150 FX4. While the FX4 package for the current 2014 F150 was a trimline of its own, the 2015 FX4 name is applied to an off road package that is available across the entire model range. The 2015 Ford F150 FX4 package begins on the outside with a unique FX4 logo on the rear of the bedside but that is the only aesthetic aspect of the new FX4 package. While the 2015 Ford F150 FX4 models won’t offer the same dark styling that I like so much about the current FX4, the trucks fitted with the new package should allow owners to push the new F150 to all new off roading levels.
