Two People Injured After Accelerator Sticks - WBIW.com

(BEDFORD) - Two people complained of pain after the accelerator stuck on a vehicle causing it to crash into a truck and then garage, Thursday morning. According to a Lawrence County Police report, 62-year-old Christina Mills of Oolitic, was traveling east on a private drive in the 470 block of Church Camp Road and was stopping at a home when the accelerator of her 2012 Ford Fusion stuck. The vehicle struck a 2003 Ford F150 owned by Matthew Easton of Bedford. The Fusion kept pushing the vehicle until it pushed it aside and then continued to travel south until it struck a detached garage. Source: www.wbiw.com

Brake problems lead to investigation of Ford F-150 trucks - Kansas City Star

safety regulators are investigating complaints that the power brake assist can fail on some Ford F-150 pickup trucks. The agency said in documents posted on its website that it has received 32 complaints alleging that electric vacuum assist pumps can fail, causing the loss of power brakes and increased braking effort in traffic. Ford’s F-Series truck are the top-selling vehicles in the U. S. Although Ford did not have any specific information about where the trucks subject to the federal review were built, the company’s Claycomo plant has long been the primary home to the... Many of the people complaining wrote that the problem happens when they first start the trucks. One wrote about losing power brakes while backing up at 5 miles per hour and crashing into a tree. “Cannot park in garage as may hit house or garage or kids when backing out,” another person wrote.
