Ford F-150 Gaining Traction in Pickup Sales - 24/7 Wall St.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) reported sales of 71,332 F-Series pickups in August, the first time the total has risen to more than 70,000 all year. The company does not break out sales of its all-new, aluminum-bodied F-150. In August of 2014, the company sold 68,109 F-Series trucks and in July it sold 66,288 units. A unit sales increase of more than 5,000 pulls the F-Series closer to total sales of the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado, both from General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM). The company sold 54,977 Silverados in August, up from 49,201 in August of last year,... The GMC Sierra sold 21,241 units in August, up from 19,847 in 2014, and about flat with 19,808 units sold in July. Where GM sold a total of nearly 10,000 more pickups in July than did Ford, the gap closed to less than 8,000 in August. If the company’s prediction that sales will reach normalized levels by the end of the third quarter come true, September could see another big gain in F-150 sales. The company is moving production of its Focus compact, Focus EV and C-MAX hybrid and plug-in hybrid to Mexico in 2018. Bank robber, gun thieves sent to federal prison - Richmond County Daily Journal

Aaron Michael Dohogn and Brandon Jaquan Jones were both convicted on federal firearms charges and Jason Haynes West was convicted in a December bank robbery. Investigators found that several other vehicles — a 2000 Jaguar XJ8, a 2000 Ford F-150 truck and a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee — had also been broken into. The same day, Joseph Allen Bowman reported that his truck, a 1997 Ford F-150, had been stolen from his Covington Street home — one street over from where the sheriff’s car had been broken into. Aaron Michael Dohogn was arrested shortly before midnight the following day when an officer with the Delta Company Police, a private security firm working for Motel 6, spotted the truck in Aberdeen. According to witnesses, Dohogn had tried to sell the firearms the day of the theft. William Jones, of Laurinburg, told investigators Dohogn wanted $2,000 for the firearms. Jones didn’t have the money, but took the M4 on pawn for $200, and bought a trailer hitch from Dohogn for $10. He also declined to buy the stolen truck for $300.
