2008 BMW 335i Convertible - Car and Driver

The BMW 3-series is without question one of our favorite cars, reigning on our yearly 10Best Cars list for the past 16 years. For 2008, and to no one's surprise, BMW is adding a convertible version, just as the company has for the past 20 years. But, this is BMW's first foray into the expanding, hardtop-convertible parade. , the convertible will be offered as the aforementioned 300-hp 335i—the model we got an early drive in—as well as a 230-hp 328i when it goes on-sale at the end of March. Hardtop convertibles offer numerous advantages over their soft-top competitors, including coupe-like quietness and excellent visibility when the top is up. BMW reports that the rear side windows have grown 30 percent in the new 3-series... Looks-wise, you probably won't spot the new convertible by its 3-series-coupe-like front-end, but rather from the rear, where the coupe's flowing roofline is replaced by a distinct line where the convertible's roof meets the trunk. As you might imagine, we get a lot of questions about buying cars--both new and used. I'm looking at a 2008 BMW 328 or 335, with about 25,000 to 30,000 miles, from a dealer, warranty remaining one owner etc. There are buy-back 335s with replaced fuel pumps that are $10,000 cheaper. We got notes from two High Gear Media editors and one BMW-savvy friend. - Certified Pre-Owned is definitely the way to go for peace of mind. if so, test the driving response to make sure you like it. - We couldn't come up with a lot of knowledge on the fuel-pump buy-back issue, so we recommend avoiding those. BMW-owning friend : The 335i has considerably more power and way more torque than the 328, about 50 percent more in both cases. And BMW seems to be sandbagging the horsepower and torque numbers on the 335i, meaning it REALLY makes a lot of power. But the 335i also runs hotter and has had a few issues regarding overheating, particularly the early cars that had no oil cooler. By 2008, the 335i models with the sport package (most manuals have it unless special ordered without it, which would be absurd) have a factory oil cooler. Florida Activist and Journalist Wins Appeal for Public Records - PINAC News

He’s definitely not bashful when it comes to asking for public records concerning the issues important to his community, sharing the information with his community on his website Columbiacountyobserver. Two years ago, the Florida activist started questioning The Lake Shore Hospital Authority (LSHA) about a construction project proposal, estimated to cost $500,000. The LSHA is a Florida public agency that controls the maintenance and the operation... LSHA staff made many attempts to place restrictions for access to public records in their custody. Their first attempt to deny access was a demand for fees to copy the project plans so that these copies could be provided to Lilker for inspection. He would also have to give 24 hours notice before he arrived for his one-hour window to view public records. In response to his public records request, he was told that the requested records could be found on the LSHA website, but the website had problems displaying the records so Lilker requested a hard copy that LSHA refused to provide. The restrictions that LSHA set for Lilker were a clear violation of Florida’s increasingly broad public record laws. Source: photographyisnotacrime.com
