David Crawford, Chief Executive Officer of the Motor Industry Association says ‘After a flat May, the new vehicle market once again took off in June with 13,030 new vehicles registered, the strongest month of June on record and the 5th strongest... Toyota remained the overall market leader for the month of June with 23 percent (2,942 vehicles) followed by Holden with 11 percent (1,373 vehicles) and Ford with 10 percent (1,277 vehicles). New passenger car registrations of 9021 vehicles in June were up 504 units on June 2014 sales of 8,517 vehicles. Toyota remains the market leader for passenger vehicles (2,171 vehicles/24 percent) followed by Holden (870 vehicles/10 percent) and Hyundai (773 vehicles/9 percent). The top selling passenger model for the month of June was the Toyota Rav4 (613 vehicles) followed by the Toyota Highlander (489 vehicles) and the Toyota Corolla (436 vehicles). New commercial vehicle registrations of 4,009 vehicles in June were marginal up by 7 units on June 2014 sales of 4,002 vehicles. Ford displaced Toyota as the commercial vehicle leader for the month of June (811 vehicles/20 percent), however Toyota remains the market leader, followed by Ford and Holden.
