GMC 2500 diesel pickup, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SUV - TriValley Central

Under the hood is the king of engines, putting out 397 horsepower and 765 pounds per foot of torque at a low 1,600 rpm. Towing ability runs 14,000 to 23,000 pounds, with a 4,000-pound payload in the bed. We get giant side mirrors for a good view, but they stick out very far. Failure to retract before entering the fast food drive-thru can result in very expensive mirror replacement. It’s very quiet, smooth and comfortable, but in heavy city traffic, it’s like steering a Titanic cruise ship in a bathtub. The EPA doesn’t rate the gas mileage, but I can tell you it ran from 13 mpg in the city to 19 while freeway cruising. It is a great truck in any case. For those who want something more economical, we also had the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SUV. Gas mileage is rated at 24/30 mpg. I found it odd they give us manual paddle shifters on the steering wheel, considering the small motor. I took the Outlander on a highway trip, and the best mileage I got was 26 mpg. I did a lot of driving at night and found the headlights put out plenty of light on high-beam setting but cut off too soon at 56 feet on low beam. The four-wheel-drive system came in handy when.
