Bloomer Police said Joshua A. Miller didn’t want to stop when a police squad car began pursuing him early Tuesday morning. After failing to negotiate a left turn onto Riggs Street, police said the 23-year-old Miller did finally stop, when the 1995 Ford F-250 pickup truck he was driving went into the Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1806 17th Ave. “It’s quite a bit of damage (to the building),” Bloomer Police Chief Jared Zwiefelhofer said. Miller, a Bloomer resident, was cited for OWI first offense in the crash at 2:10 a. m. Zwiefelhofer said more charges against Miller are possible. A female from Bloomer was a passenger in the vehicle and was not charged, Zwiefelhofer said. Source: chippewa.com

Seventh St. , for attempting/conspiring/inducing another to commit an unlawful act. At 11:41 a. m. a 1995 Ford F-250, driven by Russell Adels, 36, of Sterling, was traveling west in the 1100 block of W. Main St. approximately 50 feet west of S. 10th Ave. A 1998 Toyota Corolla, driven by Linda Gandee, 64, of Sterling, was directly in front of the Ford. The Ford impacted the Toyota's rear with its front. The Ford sustained slight damage. URBANA — A former Champaign resident died Thursday as a result of a two-vehicle collision in Iroquois County. Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said Stephen T. Montez, 24, of Cissna Park, was pronounced dead at Carle Foundation Hospital at 7:02 p. m. , a victim of traumatic injuries. According to a report from the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Montez was traveling eastbound on 700N at the intersection of 1100E when the Subaru SUV he was driving was struck by a southbound Ford F-250 that was pulling a trailer with a... Montez was extricated from his vehicle by Cissna Park and Buckley firefighters before being airlifted to Carle. The Iroquois County Sheriff and Champaign County Coroner’s office are still investigating.
