The 2016 Jeep Compass receives a laundry list of upgrades, including a bucket of new standard features. Now, the base Jeep Compass comes standard with the Uconnect handsfree interface and Sirius XM radio with a one-year subscription. A new Sport SE package is added to the 2016 Jeep Compass, which includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated cloth front seats, gray aluminum wheels, as well as gray-trimmed grille rings, foglight bezels, roof rails, rear fascia, Sport SE... The Cherokee’s Uconnect infotainment system gained a software update as well, with models equipped with the optional 8. 4-inch touchscreen gaining a new drag-and-drop menu bar, along with the Siri Eyes Free iPhone system. The 2016 Jeep Patriot adds a few standard features as well, with the Uconnect handsfree phone system and satellite radio now included on all trims. Operating range of the variable-valve-timing system has been increased from 50 to 70 degrees to mitigate detonation during hot starts, improving operation of the automatic engine stop-start (ESS) function. FCA chose to continue with an upgraded port-injection system, citing added cost and weight as tradeoffs that go with direct injection. That's 60mph in the ye olde units that Americans prefer, so you can safely add a few tenths of a second for the equivalent 0-100km/h time. But even if you add over half a second (unlikely), it still means this American brute will be the fastest SUV on the planet. Faster than the BMW X5 M (4. 2s 0-100km/h), faster than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo (4. 5s 0-100km/h). It's also just as fast as its sedan sister, the Dodge Charger Hellcat (below). Both are equipped with the same 6. 2 litre supercharged V8 and both churn out a collossal 527kW and 881Nm, but the Grand Cherokee's AWD helps it overcome its higher kerb weight and keep up with its lighter RWD stablemate. We don't know, and a US sales debut isn't anticipated until some time in 2016.
