Sales total more than £900,000 at Classic Car Auctions’ CarFest South auction, raising £25,000 for charity. CCA has totalled more than £900,000 of sales at its CarFest South auction, marking it out as the company’s biggest and most successful sale since the auction house was founded. A number of British classics were strongly contested, from the 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 convertible (selling for more than £17,000), to a timewarp Austin Metro VP500, which had covered a mere 741 miles from new (reaching £7700). One of the biggest... Donated by Hornby, the circuit combined all of Brundle’s favourite corners from the 2015 F1 season, and was donated to the cause by Hornby – who claim it is the biggest track they have ever produced. Vanochtend lekten de eerste foto’s uit van (een schaalmodel) van de nieuwe Volvo S90. Tussen 1997 en 1998 stond er bij Volvo ook al eens een S90 in de prijslijsten, net als een V90 overigens. De basis voor deze über-Volvo werd echter al in 1982 gelegd, toen Volvo de 760 presenteerde. In 1990 werd het model opgevolgd door de 960, al was dat meer een grondige facelift dan écht een nieuw model. In 1994 kwam er nog een kleine facelift en in 1997 werd het model omgedoopt in S90 en V90. Over die laatste schreef @larssb al eens een mooi youngtimer in beeld -artikel , hier nemen we de topversie van de S90 eens nader onder de loep. De wielbasis werd namelijk met 15 centimeter verlengd, wat geheel ten goede kwam aan de achterpassagiers. Uiterlijk is de S90 Executive te herkennen aan de eveneens 15 centimeter langere achterportieren, maar vooral aan de ruitjes in de C-stijl. Of eigenlijk het ontbreken daarvan, want waar bij de gewone S90 een stukje glas zit, daar heeft de S90 Executive een paneeltje dat de passagiers in alle anonimiteit laat genieten van de geneugten die de S90 Executive te bieden had. Tussen die zetels een met hout aangeklede middenconsole, die onder andere een klein koelkastje en bediening voor de gescheiden audio en climatecontrol herbergt. Source: www.autoblog.nl
