2015 Jaguar XF 2.0D first drive - Autoweek

What is it. The second-generation XF is our first taste of Jaguar’s new aluminum-intensive architecture, though not the first model based on the platform: Europeans are already driving the 3-series-size XE , but all-wheel drive is considered so... The XF goes on sale this autumn, launching with rear- and all-wheel drive. The same platform sits beneath the upcoming F-Pace SUV and features double-wishbone front suspension, an Integral Link multi-link rear and a 75/25 percent split of aluminum/steel. At a glance, you’d guess the XF was longer than its all-steel predecessor, but, at 195 inches, it’s actually three-tenths of an inch shorter, the roofline one-tenth of a millimeter lower. Yet Jaguar claims class-leading legroom, there’s plenty of headroom and the entire rear-seat experience is airier, less claustrophobic. At launch, you’ll choose from the F-Type’s 3. 0-liter supercharged V6 with 335 or 375 hp. Less familiar are the new-generation 2. 0-liter four-cylinder Ingenium engines, both gas and diesel. We drive the V6 next month, but for now we’ve got an early test in a 178-hp four-cylinder turbodiesel with rear-wheel drive. Jaguar couldn’t provide an exact. Source: autoweek.com

2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 S and Cadillac ATS-V go Head 2 Head - Motor Trend

The latest cars attempting to knock the M3 off its peak are the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V and Mercedes-AMG C63 S. Which car from this duo will come out on top. “Outstanding world-class chassis,” Lieberman notes. ” When it comes to the AMG C63 S , Lieberman isn’t so hot on the sedan’s sheetmetal, but is completely impressed with the cabin, which he describes as a shrunken S-Class with impressive materials and eye-catching design. Lieberman is a fan of the AMG’s aggressive behavior, from the engine’s power delivery and sound to the responsive steering. Randy Pobst provides his valuable input on the track and starts with the Cadillac ATS-V. “These Cadillacs put the power down better than the Corvettes do,” Pobst notes. Behind all the ceremony of the XE’s launch, Jag’s engineers have been quietly hard at work taking all the good things that made the XF successful and steadfastly tweaking them. The car improves in all the areas you’d expect: it’s lighter thanks to new aluminium-intensive architecture shared with the XE, there’s a wealth of new tech and safety kit, it’s roomier and a range of new, more efficient engines also features. We sampled the powerful diesel in super-posh Portfolio trim (pictured), but in the UK, it can only be ordered in range-topping sporty S trim – joining the other racy S with a thumping 3. 0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine from the F-Type.
