We drive 25km on the pavement and officials take an odo reading before and after. Last year our cal factor was 1. 257 I think. So for every 25 kms we went, the odo said we went 26. 3. Officials record your odo reading at the beginning and end of the day and then use each team’s cal factor to get the actual number. Our odo is also recorded at each of the check points. Alternatively, just take the Avalanche that Chevy stopped making, update it and reincarnate it as a GMC exclusive. It had that look that people liked a lot. Put the cherry on top by offering a diesel. Of course, it takes money to build this and focus groups will skew the bean counters to offering yet another rebadged v6 CUV. Sad, since GMC is a 'truck' division, but reality seems to like to squish dreams. Even when in middle school drawing cars, I always had this vision of GMC diverging from Chevy enough and having commercial/business oriented vehicles. Even sketched an executive type car. It was tall and kinda like a CUV but CUVs weren't around yet so it was just kinda a tall car (like a Rolls Royce). Gave up that idea years ago because big cars just aren't in anymore. But I still wonder if there is a 'hybrid' (not powertrain, but design wise) design that would be perfect for GMC. GM doesn't need a new brand after it just killed off so many, GMC is a venue for a little experimentation. This could be very successful if they put a Granite-like car into production. Toyota Likely To Apply Fuel-Cell Technology to Long-Haul Trucks and Buses First - TruckTrend Magazine

Toyota continues pushing ahead with its fuel-cell program and is looking to market a fuel-cell vehicle in 2015. The alternative fuel technology will likely be applied first to long-haul trucks and buses before hitting passenger vehicles available... To assist FCV range, the fuel-tank capacity was doubled from pressure levels of 5075 psi to 10,150 psi. A driving test held last June revealed that the increased tank capacity, along with improvements to the fuel-cell system, was able to boost the range of the Highlander-based FCV from 206 miles to 500 miles. Toyota has noted that improvements have been made to driving energy, inverter motor loss, high-voltage converter loss, fuel-cell heat loss, air-compressor power, hydrogen pump power, cooling water power, and auxiliary battery power. Reducing auxiliary system loss and increasing regenerative energy has net an increased fuel economy by 25%. Toyota's findings on its fuel-cell efficiency are listed in the table below.
