The 4×4 and crossover must be street legal, so no tube frame chassis. There are some other rules for ground clearance and such, but mostly if you can legally drive it on the street, you can take it to Gazelles. We drive 25km on the pavement and officials take an odo reading before and after. Last year our cal factor was 1. 257 I think. So for every 25 kms we went, the odo said we went 26. 3. Officials record your odo reading at the beginning and end of the day and then use each team’s cal factor to get the actual number. Our odo is also recorded at each of the check points.
