Flatbed F-350 Rolls Over Twice in Monday Morning Crash - San Angelo LIVE!

Lanes were blocked as DPS conducts the investigation U. S. 87. Witnesses at the scene said that the white car was crossing U. S. 87 as the truck was northbound on the highway. The driver of the truck avoided catastrophe by swerving to miss the crossing compact sedan. In the process of swerving, the truck clipped the Avenger, entered a broadside skid that led to rolling over twice. San Angelo EMS responded to the scene, but luckily neither driver was injured, and the ambulance left the scene empty. Update 11:00 a. m. The DPS confirms what the witnesses reported to us. Added to the investigation was that the truck was in a blind spot for the white 2008 Dodge Avenger, whose driver stated that she did not see the incoming truck. The Avenger driver was crossing U. Jamie Frere, 43, of Canandaigua, was charged with speed not reasonable and prudent, reckless driving, making an unsafe lane change and crossing hazardous road markings, Troop T Public Information Officer David Howard said. The accident occurred about 2:30 p. m. The driver’s 2004 Ford F-350 truck approached the Exit 47 toll booths at a speed estimated at 55-to-60 mph, Howard said. Frere told police the trailer started to fishtail as he approached the toll booth. The pickup knocked down a light standard, went airborne and crashed into a concrete buffer at Exit Lane 3. The force of the impact bent one of the heavy steel beams that support the toll booth roof. The truck continued another 300 feet past the toll booth and came to rest upside down. Lanes to get on and off the Thruway at Exit 47 were closed for a time because of the crash. LE ROY — A driver was injured when his pickup truck crashed and flipped over at the Le Roy Thruway exit Thursday afternoon, state police said. An Ivanhoe motorcycle rider died from injuries he suffered in a crash west of Plainview Thursday morning. The 57-year-old man, whose name was not released pending family notification, suffered the fatal injuries in a crash at Avenue 192 and Road 192. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcycle rider was traveling westbound on Avenue...   Pros: "Power, power, power"

  Cons: "weak torque converter, without chip bad milage"

  "New torque converter, 4" exhaust, new tires, new grill, 7 position chip, K&N air filter, new batteries and new injectors. this pulled my 14,500lb 5th wheel up anything in Wa, state with ease. Now haul a 3,600lb camper and 3,000lb boat anywhere I want to go with no power loss. With my chip set at 100hp, I get 28 MPG with canopy on not towing anything. I have had this truck for 8 yrs and no reason to trade it in, only paid $18,500 with 60,000 miles on it from a dealer. Do change out torque converter, that is the week spot."

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE LINER IN THE FUEL TANK DELAMINATED, CAUSING PLASTIC PIECES TO FLOW THROUGH THE FUEL LINE, PUMP, AND INJECTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. UPDATED 11/19/08. UPDATED 11/19/08.

THE SMELL IS SICKENING AND IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE WINDOWS EYES WATER,FEEL TIRED, SICK TO STOMACH, ALL NOT GOOD FOR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (PEOPLE REALLY LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOU ARE NUTS WHEN ITS 5 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND YOU ARE DRIVING AROUND WITH YOUR WINDOWS OPEN). THIS TIME IT HAS BEEN BLAMED ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, THE FIRST TIME IT WAS WHAT THEY CALLED THE DOWN EXHAUST PIPE. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A BIGGER PROBLEM WHICH HAS TO DO WITH THE 6.0 ENGINE. TOO MUCH PRESSURE FOR THE EXHAUST. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS WITH THE RADIATOR HOSE. I HAVE 46700 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND THE RADIATOR HOSE HAS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUBBING ON THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX, FORD WILL NOT COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE COME UP WITH A NEW HOSE AND NEW PART NUMBER TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING. I HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD IF THEY ARE REPLACING THE HOSE WITH THE OLD STYLE OR THE NEW STYLE.

ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, UNDER THE FRAME AND THE OTHER ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. OWNERS MANUAL RECCOMENDS THAT YOU MUST DRAIN THE ONE UNDER THE FRAME AT LEAST WITH EVERY FILL UP TO PREVENT WATER FROM GETTING INTO THE ENGINE. 2.) THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU MUST USE AN ALLEN WRENCH UNDER THE FRAME TO LOOSEN THE SCREW FOR THE FUEL IN THE FILTER TO DRAIN OUT. FORD RECCOMENDS AT LEAST 25 SECONDS AND INTO A CONTAINER. I HAVE DONE THIS 5 TIMES NOW. 4 TIMES THE SCREW HAS FALLEN OUT AND I WAS SOAKED WITH DIESEL FUEL, AND HAD A 45 SECOND OR SO FLOW OF FUEL ON THE GROUND, CONTAMINATING IT. 3.) I FEEL THAT THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL TO CHANGE THAT DRAIN SCREW TO A PETCOCK OR A SPRING LOADED SCREW TO PREVENT THE SCREW FROM FALLING OUT. THIS WOULD PREVENT THESE SMALL FUEL SPILLS THAT ARE HARMFUL TO THE ENVIORNMENT, AND THE DANGEREOUS FUEL THAT IS BEING SPILLED ONTO PEOPLE.
