The Polaris/Eicher Motors Multix Mini Truck is the TATA Nano of Pickups - The Fast Lane

The Polaris/Eicher Motors Multix Mini Truck is purpose built for consumers in India that need utility at a remarkably low price ($3,638). People in the North American truck market tend to take small, tiny pickup trucks for granted. The Multix Mini Truck has a single-cylinder, 510cc diesel engine which makes about 10 horsepower while pumpping out about 20 lbs-feet of torque. The appears to be two versions of the Multix Mini Truck. There’s a four and five-seat version with the five-seater having a small center seat that can fold and open up for storage. There is a folding rear bulkhead allowing you to fold the rear seats for extra capacity. Details are thin, but it looks like the Multix Mini Truck is pretty barren inside and, to save money, it even omits air conditioning. Here’s the nifty part: the Multix Mini Truck has a power take-off function that allows the vehicle to become a generator of sorts. The “X-Port” power take-off system produces 3 kW of power and can be used to power tools, a home or a campsite with power to spare. Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd, is a joint venture between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries. Man arrested in vehicle thefts - The Times and Democrat

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second individual believed to have been part of last month’s’ theft of two vehicles from Orangeburg dealerships. Jamar Johnson, 30, of Summerville, was charged with two counts of grand larceny over $10,000, two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of receiving stolen goods. Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Investigator Riley Godwin told the court the Summerville man’s criminal history has been dotted with theft charges since 2006. The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is expecting to make more arrests. The Grambling Road man was charged in the case with one count each of receiving stolen goods and criminal conspiracy. Till’s bond was set at $35,000. The two were arrested in connection with a case that goes back to April when a 2015 Dodge Ram truck was reported stolen. Orangeburg Chrysler staff reported the $30,000 vehicle stolen after an inventory indicated it was missing on April 8. Then on April 26, Gibbes Ford employees called to report a $60,000 2015 Ford F-250 4x4 crew cab truck missing. “Both stolen trucks and the repossession-type vehicle used in these thefts have been recovered,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. Ravenell said the repossession truck believed to have been used in the two thefts was also recovered. Source: thetandd.com

Man charged with hiding stolen truck - The Times and Democrat

Michael William Hoy, 40, of 1656 Four Holes Road, was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy and one count of receiving stolen goods, value of $10,000 or more. They also claim Hoy knew the vehicle was stolen and that he conspired to conceal, store and possess the stolen vehicle between April 8 and May 3. Hoy is the third person arrested by the Sheriff’s Office in connection with the April thefts. Jamar Johnson, 30, was charged with two counts of grand larceny of property valued at more than $10,000, two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of receiving stolen goods. Bond was set on Johnson at $300,000. Johnson's bond was based on previous charges and convictions including receiving stolen goods, grand larceny, probation violations, possession of burglary tools, obtaining goods or services under false... Kale Till, 52, of Grambling Road, was in bond court on May 6. Till was charged with one count each of receiving stolen goods and criminal conspiracy. His bond was set at $35,000. Orangeburg County Sheriff's investigators say Johnson was the driver of a repo truck that was used to steal trucks from two separate St. Matthews Road dealerships. Source: thetandd.com
