Man arrested in vehicle thefts - The Times and Democrat

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second individual believed to have been part of last month’s’ theft of two vehicles from Orangeburg dealerships. Jamar Johnson, 30, of Summerville, was charged with two counts of grand larceny over $10,000, two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of receiving stolen goods. Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Investigator Riley Godwin told the court the Summerville man’s criminal history has been dotted with theft charges since 2006. The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is expecting to make more arrests. The Grambling Road man was charged in the case with one count each of receiving stolen goods and criminal conspiracy. Till’s bond was set at $35,000. The two were arrested in connection with a case that goes back to April when a 2015 Dodge Ram truck was reported stolen. Orangeburg Chrysler staff reported the $30,000 vehicle stolen after an inventory indicated it was missing on April 8. Then on April 26, Gibbes Ford employees called to report a $60,000 2015 Ford F-250 4x4 crew cab truck missing. “Both stolen trucks and the repossession-type vehicle used in these thefts have been recovered,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.
