Even though little has changed with the engine, the 500 Abarth gains for the first time ever the Aisin optional six-speed automatic transmission (which was included on my model). To allow the gear box ample scope to deal with the higher torque on the Abarth, more clutch plates have been installed before they were connected to the engine. With the new six-speed auto, drivers can perform rev-matching downshifts and fuel-cut upshifts along with corner gear holds. This is all possible due to the specific Sport mode calibration in the new six-speed auto transmission. The 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth can never be described as inconspicuous. The Fiat is very fuel efficient. It gets an average of 32 miles to the gallon on the highway and 24 miles to the gallon in the city. 2015 Fiat 500 1957 Edition - Albany Times Union

All the things we associate with 50's cars – fins and flashy colors, chrome and hot V-8's – came together to nominate the year as arguably the decade's most memorable. By the time of its 50th anniversary, 1957's unique mix of cars and culture had spawned its own museum (57 Heaven - sadly, since disbanded), and was celebrated in books like my Cars of 1957 (sadly, out of print). Apparently, it was also a year of note for European cars, at least in the case of Fiat. The car known to Italians as the Cinquecento went on to enjoy a historic, 18 year production run, selling almost four million units. Fiat introduced a new generation of 500 models to the North American market in 2011. The 2014 lineup included a limited production run of 1957 Edition Coupes, built to commemorate the car's 50's roots. Based on the 500's top (Lounge) trim level, the 1957 Edition returns for 2015 in both Coupe and Cabriolet models. Hardtop or cloth top, the '57 Editions are offered in three colors – white, light green or light blue. The combination of the two-tone color schemes with the pale, pastel colors, matching, body color rims and vintage Fiat badging gives the cars a unique, 50's vibe. According to the 2015 American Consumer Satisfaction Index, an annual survey that involved 4,300 consumers, drivers are most unsatisfied with Italian car company Fiat - the maker of the pint-sized Fiat 500. Fiat and Chrysler merged in 2014, and... One of the factors that seems to have been most responsible for American's dissatisfaction is the rise of auto recalls. The survey found that satisfaction with automobiles dropped for the third straight year to the lowest level since 2004. High new-car prices also were a factor. 'While it is true that all cars are now much better than they were 10 to 20 years ago, it is alarming that so many of them have quality problems,' said Claes Fornell, chairman and founder of the survey. Last year automakers recalled a record 64 million vehicles for problems such as exploding air bags and ignition switches that can unexpectedly cause engines to stall. Car prices are up 11 percent since 2010 and hit records all year, rising to an average $32,932 in July, according to the Edmunds. The index's automobile satisfaction score this year dropped nearly 4 percent to 79 out of 100. In 2004, the last time the score was that low, the industry set the previous annual record.
