The Davis Dam grade in Nevada is where all of the major truck OEs come to make their trucks cry -- it's been where the majority of serious pickup truck trailer testing has been done for decades. For Ford , in desperate need of proving the strength and durability of its new EcoBoost engine, this is where it needs to be to challenge the competition. For those who haven't been following Ford's EcoBoost marketing plan, Ford pulled a random 3. 5L V-6 EcoBoost engine off the line (#448AA), did some dyno testing (for an equivalent of 150,000 miles), then mounted it into a SuperCrew XLT for some... But none of those tests pitted the new engine against any of its competitors, like in this Davis Dam grade test. The testing was conducting by a third-party test crew, running a Ford F-150 SuperCrew EcoBoost against a Chevy Crew Cab Silverado 5. 3L V-8 and a Ram 1500 Quad Cab 5. 7L V-8. All three pulled identically equipped and weighted trailers in two... 2007 Ford F-150 FX2 Sport Extreme - Car and Driver

If you're still lamenting Ford's decision in 2004 to stop building the supercharged Lightning pickup, here is at least partial relief. The Lightning was a hot-rod version of the Ford F-150 pickup that first appeared in 1993 with a 240-hp V-8 and a $20,000 price tag. Almost everyone expected the Lightning to continue when the current-generation F-150 hit showrooms in 2004. It's hard to say exactly why that didn't happen, but part of the blame lies with the Ford GT supercar because it soaked up much of the... Also, even in its best year, the Lightning accounted for less than one percent of F-150 sales, and that probably wasn't significant enough to justify the cost of building it. We're not even sure if the Lightning will make a return when the '09... Those who still want a new Lightning will have to build it or hire someone to do it.   I bought the 2007 King Ranch back last year and it roughly had 62,000 on her. As of today I have 82,584 and I love her. I call her Kinga Rancha. I have had truly no absolutely no problems with her. Nothing mechanical at all. I service her regularly. The interior has that saddle leather, which is very comfortable and the memory seat for the driver is nice. I had installed a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler with dual exhaust, a K&N cold air intake and soon very soon a programmer to up the governor to change the speed and fuel economy. I have all my windows tinted at 5% and two 12" subs with 2500 Sundown amp. I added some neon lights inside and underneath the truck. Car Show coming soon.

  Best Features

  Saddle Leather, Premium sound system. Memory seat for driver. Back up camera, and DVD player in the back. 20" rims are a nice touch.

  Worst Features

  Better gas mileage, Bigger and better engine for that size of truck.
