As its name implies, the Mustang Apollo Edition is loosely inspired by NASA's Apollo Program. It stands out from the 2015 Mustang on which it is based thanks to a prominent carbon fiber splitter up front, a large wing out back, an air diffuser, 21-inch Forgiato alloy wheels and orange LED underbody lighting that symbolizes atmospheric... The space travel-inspired treatment continues in the cabin with logos embroidered in the seat backs and the floor mats, white contrast stitching on the seats and a model-specific instrument cluster. The Apollo Edition packs a tuned Mustang GT-sourced 5. 0-liter V8 engine that makes 627 horsepower and 540 lb-ft. Performance specifications have not been published, but Ford has added a sport-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes to help the driver make most of the eight-cylinder's power. Ford has donated the custom-built Mustang to the EAA, and the coupe is scheduled to cross the auction block at the Gathering of Eagles gala that will take place during the AirVenture show. How is it holding up. What is it. The Elantra Sport is exactly what it sounds like--the performance model of the Elantra lineup. While it's not going to be cross-shopped with the true sport compacts of the segment, it does boast the biggest engine and most aggressive suspension tune of the Elantra family. Appropriately, the Sport trim is available with a manual transmission, but our tester came with the six-speed automatic. Elsewhere, the Elantra Sport is fairly conventional. Aside from darker, sporty 17" wheels and projector headlamps (the latter shared with the Limited), there's little else differentiating the Sport from the basic SE trim aside from the availability of some option packages. In fact, the Sport goes just about toe-to-toe with the Limited model in standard feature content, trading some luxury appointments (heated rear seats, for example) for the performance boost. Indeed, there are only really three choices for buyers interested in the Elantra sport: color, transmission and check yes/no for the tech package.
