Waverly woman charged with drug, paraphernalia possession - Towanda Daily Review

Emily Dawn Benjamin, 25, of Waverly, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia by Athens Township police on April 23, Athens police said. According to police, Benjamin was taken into custody on a warrant when police saw her in the parking lot of the station on Herrick Avenue in Athens. Police said upon entering the station, Benjamin put her purse down and in plain view in the purse were a glass pipe, a hypodermic syringe, and a Benzomatic torch. Benjamin admitted to police that the items were hers and that she used them to do bath salts, police said. Police said Benjamin produced a baggie with a white powder in it that she said was bath salts. Police would only say that a 2003 Cadillac CTS and 1992 Ford F160 were the vehicles involved in the crash. According to police, the Ford was traveling south on Route 14, approaching the intersection with McMurray Road, and the Cadillac was making a left turn from McMurray Road onto Route 14 South and failed to yield to the Ford. Police said the Cadillac then struck the Ford in the bed area of the vehicle. After impact, both vehicles continued traveling on Route 14 South before coming to a stop just south of McMurray Road, police said. Source: thedailyreview.com
