8 people injured in pileup; vehicle caught fire - Lincoln Journal Star

Tim Salmen said five vehicles were involved in the crash about 6:20 p. m. just south of the Nebraska 64 junction. Henry Miller, 33, of Lincoln was stopped on U. S. 81 waiting for a vehicle to turn into a housing development on the east side of the highway when his 2011 Chevrolet Impala was hit by another southbound vehicle, Salmen said. He and his passenger, James Lindsey, 27, also of Lincoln, were taken to Columbus Community Hospital with minor injuries, Salmen said. Also injured were 29-year-old Christopher Dresch, of Brainard, who was driving a 1991 Nissan Stanza. 16-year-old Christine Vance, of Osceola, who was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry, and her 15-year-old sister Tatem Vance. 56-year-old Richard Augustin, of Shelby, who was driving a 2007 Ford Focus, and a passenger in his vehicle, 17-year-old Shawn Vanderpool, of Shelby. All of the vehicles involved were traveling south on U. S. 81. Salmen said one of the vehicles caught fire after the accident, but the flames were quickly extinguished. Source: journalstar.com
