Not the best looking shock! Have you priced new Nivomats? My online research from various Volvo forums indicate that if the shock is not leaking -then it is still working. If you want to replace your Nivomats with std shocks you'll have to replace the springs as well. That's why I decided to go with used shocks. I couldn't afford new Nivomats and I couldn't afford a shock replacement kit that included new springs. This one looks rough and the boot has a tear (see pic) but if yours are leaking then they aren't doing you any good.
