Twizel police seek information on suspected car thieves - Timaru Herald

The alleged thieves arrived in Twizel early Friday morning in a blue 2015 Toyota Hilux stolen from Christchurch. Members of the public reported the thefts to police and noted the stolen vehicle registration number. One ditched the Hilux on Braemar Place and the other visited associates in Mackenzie Dr. Constable Joe Rush said he hoped someone has seen the two on the streets of Twizel at about 12. 30pm to 1pm on Friday. The one who is believed to have dumped the vehicle is described as in his mid to late 20s, caucasian, of medium build and wearing a green beanie or hat, grey/black hoodie with a white logo on the front, 3/4 shorts and a visible tattoo on one leg. The other alleged offender who fled to an associate's property is is his mid to late 20s or early 30s, is caucasian, medium build, short, has a number 2 haircut and was wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. A 2008 black Ford escape was stolen later in the afternoon from the rear car park of Twizel Market Place and police suspect the two men were responsible it is registration number JDW994.
