Murano and me: You'll see a lot of 2015 Nissan Muranos - TechnologyTell

var tt_sections =... /* ]]> */ After I spent a week with the freshly redesigned 2015 Nissan Murano recently, I’m confident it’s a vehicle I’m going to be seeing a lot more of in the near future. l remember when the first generation Nissan Murano came out for the 2003 model year. But, being as my high school ride was a then nine-year-old Nissan Hardbody pickup, I was somewhat of a Nissan fanboy. And I remember at the time how many people talked about the Murano. To put things in perspective, consider that at the same time the Murano was coming out, we were getting the third-generation Ford Explorer that was still leaning heavily on the 1993 redesign of the Ford Ranger pickup truck on which it was based. Compared to those tall, comparatively narrow-looking truck-based Explorers, the Murano looked positively alien for a mass-market SUV. The Explorer, long the standard-bearer of domestic midsize SUVs, went upmarket, and Ford in 2007 introduced the Edge crossover that, in all honesty, kind of aped the rounded, wide-body design cues seen on the first generation Nissan Murano. That was a harbinger, as the midsize SUV segment heated up to combustible temperatures in short order: the second-gen Toyota Highlander damn near perfected its car-based.
