The Jeep Wrangler is as much of a statement as it is a vehicle, and while the rough-and-tumble ruggedness of even the most posh Wrangler may not be for everyone , it’s clear to see that Jeep’s off-road icon is a smashing success. Ford Bronco The Bronco is one of the most celebrated SUVs of all time, and is largely credited for popularizing utility vehicles among the American public. Built on a completely original platform, fitted with a straight-6 or Windsor V-8 and all the utility and character you could ever need, the Bronco gave Jeep a run for its money all the way up to 1996 when it was killed off by Ford. You can still find mint condition examples today, but we think Ford would be wise to bring back the Bronco as a modern off-roader, perhaps on a shared platform with the sorely-missed Ranger pickup.
