Starting August 31, customers who have already bought a 2011 Power Stroke–equipped truck can take advantage of a free upgrade to the new power outputs at any Ford dealership. When we tested a 2011 Ford F-250 with the Power Stroke engine—back then making a pathetic 390 hp and 735 lb-ft—we found it had no trouble towing a Spec Miata, tires, and tools. It also reached 60 mph in 8. 0 seconds and finished the quarter-mile dash in 16. 2 seconds at 86 mph, despite weighing 7960 pounds.
