Fairchild, 68 years, of Monroe, Mich. Born in Monroe, Jim was the son of Francis E. “Ed” and Violet M. “Vi” (Stihler) Fairchild. He attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1965 graduate of Monroe High School. On July 10, 1999, Jim married his beloved wife, the former Karen A. Thompson, in Fargo, North Dakota. Jim worked for Ford Motor Co. at the Monroe plant for 22 years. He retired in 1992. Jim was a member of the U. A. W. Local 723 in Monroe, where he served on the house and recreation committee. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge #884 in Monroe. A true outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and hunting for, and collecting, arrowheads. Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Karen. his father, Francis “Ed” Fairchild of Monroe. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S.
