In 2011, the American automaker limited its extended warranty coverage on approximately 15,000 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertibles that were experiencing issues with rear glass separation. The warranty coverage was limited to vehicles that were originally shipped to warm-weather states, which included Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Essentially, owners of the vehicle outside the extended warranty states are experiencing rear glass separation issues that are not being covered by the extended warranty. “Owners of the vehicles in the covered states were provided an extended warranty of 10 years or 10,000 miles, whichever occurs first,” said NHTSA.
