Three arrested in central Bakersfield following pursuit - The Bakersfield Californian

Three suspects, including two juveniles, allegedly led Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a chase Friday night before getting out of their car and running, evading law enforcement for about an hour before being taken into custody. A second KCSO deputy arrived to assist but the 2006 Nissan Altima sedan, reported stolen to the Bakersfield Police Department, drove away east according to KCSO Lt. Adam Plugge. Its three occupants abandoned the car near Chester Avenue and Second Street and ran, prompting deputies and BPD officers to cordon off a roughly two-block area. Plugge said all three could face felony charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing or resisting a peace officer. They could also face charges of possessing a stolen vehicle — a misdemeanor or a felony depending on whether they have prior criminal histories. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. — A Grasmere mother is accused of driving drunk on the West Shore Expressway with her four young children in the car, according to a law enforcement source. Andrea Perau, 42, of the 400 block of Mosel Avenue, was behind the wheel of her 2006 Nissan Altima, when she was pulled over on the expressway near Victory Boulevard, at 7 p. m. on Thursday, police said. Perau had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, a flushed face, watery and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and swaying balance, according to the criminal complaint filed against her. She was driving her four children and was pulled over after cops spotted her riding on the rim and nearly swiping a patrol car, a source with knowledge of the investigation told the Advance. The four children in her car were ages 10, 8, 7 and 1, the complaint states. Perau is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated. Source: www.silive.com

Police said a motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash with a vehicle that ran a red light just west of the Las Vegas Strip on Tuesday night. The crash happened at 11:38 p. m. at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Dean Martin Drive. According to Las Vegas Metro police, the motorcycle, which had a green light, was traveling on Dean Martin through the intersection with Tropicana, when a 2006 Nissan Altima on Tropicana came through the intersection and hit the motorcycle.
