The man accused of stabbing three people Wednesday, one of whom died, and then killing a Sunset police officer with his own gun has been charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Harrison Lee Riley Jr. , 35, was also charged with two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, after driving a stolen vehicle through the front of a store occupied by two people. The obstruction of justice charge stems from the fire inside the store room of the Sunset Mini Mart after Riley was apprehended. Police said Friday they believe Riley started the fire. In total, Louisiana State Fire Marshal Butch Browning said the damage to the store could cost upwards of $100,000. Lewisville police search for suspect in shooting - Denton Record Chronicle

A capital murder warrant has been issued for Cariea Lashae McCord in connection with the shooting death of Jarrod Dewayne Black, according to a news release issued Wednesday by Lewisville police. Black, 19, was found dead July 23 inside a 2004 green Nissan Altima near the intersection of Oak Bend Drive and Forestbrook Drive in southern Lewisville. Dan Rochelle said McCord and Black are cousins, and McCord is believed to have been the shooter sitting in the passenger’s seat of the vehicle. One suspect was described as a black man and the other person’s gender was uncertain, police said. Deaver said there were many escape routes the suspects could have taken before police could completely secure the area, which is surrounded by many apartments and business centers. Rochelle said Wednesday that the shooting is believed to be narcotics related and detectives are still working to identify the man that was in the back seat at the time of the shooting. McCord’s whereabouts are unknown at this time and she may be in hiding, police said. Capital murder warrant issued in connection with Lewisville murder - Star Local Media

On Wednesday detectives with the Lewisville Police Department obtained a capital murder warrant for the arrest of 19-year-old Lewisville resident Cariea Lashae McCord in connection with the death of Jarrod Dewayne Black. Police said McCord’s whereabouts are unknown, and they said she may be in hiding. Police responded to a call for “shots heard” that was later upgraded to “person shot” at 12:04 p. m. July 23 in the 100 block of Forest Brook Drive. Police found 19-year-old Black deceased inside of a 2004 green Nissan Altima. “McCord was with the victim the day of the murder, and we believe she was sitting next to him in the vehicle,” said Capt. Police set up a perimeter and searched the area for more than three hours without locating the suspects. However, police said the suspects were able to escape the wooded area before a solid perimeter could be established. Anyone with any information on her location is urged to contact the Lewisville Police Department or the agency in the jurisdiction she may be found.
