Jason has a '95 Chevrolet S-10 that he acquired though his grandfather. Some of his duties as an instructor involve recruitment for his program, and as he was thinking of ways to do so, he decided to use the S-10. Not only is Jason fixing the truck up to be his daily driver, he is using it as a means of advertising,... The truck has undergone a complete makeover, with a custom hot rod paint job, because Jason doesn't want this to look like your normal, boring S-10. He used two coats of metallic fuchsia hologram over the raspberry factory color, which makes the... He spent 15 hours taping off the scallops and spraying Infinity’s White Effect tri-coat, before the truck saw its final coats of clear. The truck has been lowered four inches, and to complete a desired “old school” look, Jason added some smoothie wheels and wide white wall tires. Karnes Signs has been designing some vinyl graphics that will advertise Jason’s program to help get the word out about it. Jason has some future plans for the truck, including adding a spray-in bed-liner, and he’d also like to drop in an LS motor... He said his main goal is make Southern Illinois aware that John A. Fort Hood gearing up for another vehicle auction Aug. 15 - The Killeen Daily Herald

Fort Hood usually has two such auctions per year, but the one scheduled in January didn’t happen because inventory was low, said Teresa Maynard, an MWR marketing specialist who helps organize the auction. a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup that does start. Also on the list, which is on the Fort Hood MWR’s website: six small fishing boats, several kayaks and a 1994 Ford E350 passenger bus. Some of the vehicles were abandoned at Fort Hood’s Sprocket Auto Crafts Center, where soldiers can take their vehicles and work on them at no cost. Most of the vehicles were used for years by MWR, and were purchased with non-appropriated funds, officials said. The money raised from the auction all goes back to Sprocket for lifts or other equipment, Maynard said.
