BMW Z4 Cracked Wheels Lawsuit Settlement Agreement Reached - CarComplaints.com

— A BMW Z4 cracked wheels lawsuit has reached the settlement stage as BMW agrees to cover the cost of replacement Z4 wheels and damaged tires under the warranty period. The BMW Z4 cracked wheels lawsuit was filed by Barry Jekowsky after he was forced to pay over $2,000 to replace the V Spoke Style 296 alloy wheels and two tires that were cracking and splitting. Jekowsky had leased the 2011 BMW Z4 with a warranty period of four years/50,000 miles and according to court documents, the cracked wheels occurred before 20,000 miles. Additionally, BMW had allegedly been sued by owners of other BMW vehicles after wheels cracked and the automaker had refused to accept liability. In the Z4 settlement agreement, BMW will reimburse members of the class-action lawsuit for expenses related to repairs or replacement of the wheels and/or on model year 2009-2013 BMW Z4 cars. BMW said it will also reimburse affected owners for expenses related to replacing the damaged tires if the damage occurred from the cracked wheels. Audi TT Roadster vs BMW Z4 - News - What Car?

Just in time to take advantage, Audi has launched its new TT Roadster, a car that has the potential to be very good indeed. Here we’re testing the entry-level 2. 0-litre petrol with four-wheel drive, an automatic ’box and in range-topping S line trim. We’re pitting it against the BMW Z4. It’s been around since 2009 but still looks the part, and its rear-wheel drive layout has the potential to make it great fun to drive. Audi TT Roadster 2. 0 TFSI quattro S line S tronic. Does this new soft-top version of the Audi TT impress as much as the fabulous coupé. The BMW’s engine pumps out 15bhp more when you rev it hard. Meanwhile, the Audi’s engine produces 15lb ft more torque at lower revs. This means that in an outright sprint from standstill to 60mph the BMW is fractionally ahead, but the TT responds more eagerly from lower revs in higher gears. It transmits less vibration through the controls when you’re accelerating, and the exhaust is less boomy than the BMW’s on the motorway. Both gearboxes have their faults, but it’s the Audi’s six-speed ’box that’s preferable to the BMW’s eight-speeder. The TT’s is the more responsive when you decide to take control using the paddles behind the steering wheel, and it tends to dither less when you leave it to its own devices. Source: www.whatcar.com

Next-generation BMW Z4 to arrive by 2020 - Driving

The popularity of the roadster might be shrinking, but that’s not stopping BMW from aiming to have a new Z4 out in the next five years. According to Automotive News , BMW development chief Klaus Froehlich says although the market for roadsters is shrinking, he “would like to see a Z4 successor in this decade. Last year, BMW sold 5,300 copies of the Z4 in Europe – a decrease of 11 per cent, according to JATO Dynamics. But despite this, BMW is still working on a successor under its new partnership with Toyota. Toyota is said to be developing the powertrain and BMW will likely supply the transmission and design the chassis, which is expected to use carbon fibre reinforced plastic, much like in the current i3 and i8.
