THIS week lets take a look at this insanely cool 2009 Aston Martin V12 Vantage spotted in Sydney, Australia. The engineers that worked for Aston wanted to create the ultimate driver's car, so they took what was at the time, the most powerful engine they make from the DBS and threw it in the smallest car the make, the V8 Vantage. As I said before, the engineers at Aston Martin wanted to create the ultimate driver's car, so they fitted a 6-speed manual for the purest driving experience. This V12 Vantage is able to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 4. 1 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 305 kilometres per hour (190 miles per hour). As I mentioned earlier, this engine is the same one that is found in the Aston Martin DBS, which I featured a couple of weeks ago, but since then they have released a more powerful engine that is in the new Vanquish. The most noticeable visual differences between this V12 Vantage and the standard V8 Vantage include 4 carbon fibre scoops on the hood, an updated air intake, a carbon fibre front splitter, a more aerodynamic rear diffuser and lots of other little... And that slippery roofline is the best part of an Aston’s bod. The aluminum-constructed Vantage, Aston’s smallest and lowest-priced car, is the triggerfish in the company’s lineup. The Sportshift paddle-operated six-speed adds $3600, the first of many items on the option buffet. In a car that costs more than two BMW M3 s, xenon headlamps take another $795, and cruise control is $450. What Aston calls “fine stitching” fine-tunes the price by $220. Aston is only emulating Porsche with its have-it-your-way pricing smorgasbord. However, if you must special order a Vantage because the dealer lacks one with the $145 first-aid kit, consider subbing a $3 box of Band-Aids. Noteworthy changes for 2009: The 380-hp, 4. 3-liter twin-cam V-8 is now a whirling 420-hp 4. 7, the bore and stroke an even 91 millimeters after growing 2mm and 5mm, respectively.
