You may or may not like a car, but you can’t fight the fact that Rick is all smiles about it and that brings him joy. The parking lot of the Westport train station was closed to traffic and filled with automobile specimens dating to all eras of automobile manufacture since the dawn of the twentieth century. The event was comprised of two aspects, explained Concours Executive Director Frank Taylor: a themed exhibit at the east end of the lot, and a Cars and Coffee section on the west side for car owners to show off their cars and socialize. "They can show up, show off their cars, and talk with their buddies," Taylor said of the social aspect of the Concours. The theme of Sunday's exhibit was cars manufactured in Connecticut. On display Sunday were well-preserved relics from this heyday of Connecticut car manufacture, plus examples of Connecticut car manufacture spanning the decades. In the Cars and Coffee lot, Westporter René Rhys displayed her powder blue '62 Triumph TR3B, which she said are rare because they combine the engine of a TR4 with leftover chassis from TR3As, a model which proved unpopular on the American market.
