My main disagreement with you on this and other videos that I have watched, where you were the one doing the review is summed up in something you said in this video. Everything that I have read about this current trend of using larger, and sometimes ridiculously larger wheels, is just about looks. These larger wheels, take away from mileage, they decrease 0 to 60 times, they cause pickup trucks (that have them) to lower the number of pounds that a truck can both carry and tow. I want an automobile that has the tire and wheel size that will optimize my truck or SUV’s performance in the important areas. Now, that look may appeal to a certain amount or percentage of the population…and I have no problem with those individuals being able to put whatever size tires and wheels that they want on their cars and trucks. But I do have a problem with automobile manufacturers who are intent on making that the only size or sizes available. I don’t want twenty-two inch (Plus) rims on my pickup truck or SUV. The other reviewer asked what size the rims were on the vehicle that they were driving and the engineer told them that they were 22?. When asked if smaller rims were available, the engineer quickly replied that that there were no smaller rim sizes... Source: www.tflcar.com

EXECUTIVE EDITOR ROGER HART: Nissan certainly has improved the Xterra since it was first launched about a decade ago. The ride is a bit more refined, the handling a bit less vague, and it comes in a better overall package. Driving the Xterra in a snowstorm was a good test. the thing never wavered in the snow. But, I do wonder whether engineers really take the time to figure out if wipers/defrosters will work to clear snow falling at the rate of about two inches per hour. My guess is that the Nissan engineers didn't think many Xterra drivers would encounter such conditions because, even with the defroster on high, the wiper blades continually froze up, wiping slush across the windshield with each pass. I like Nissan's 4. 0-liter V6. It's plenty torquey in this application, with enough oomph to move things along. I also liked the PRO-4X goodies, which added a nice, custom look to the vehicle. ASSISTANT ART DIRECTOR CHERYL L. BLAHNIK: I've always liked the rugged external looks of the Xterra. It's an SUV that looks as if it would have no problem going up a mountain pass or getting to a destination that would be impossible in most other vehicles. Specifically, the PRO-4X offers the following equipment, as described in the Xterra media kit: Roof-Mounted Off-Road Lights in the air dam, silver headlight inner color, black bodyside molding, fold-down front passenger seat with backboard, unique... Unique PRO-4X performance equipment includes P265/75R16 BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A off-road tires, rugged 16-inch wheels, Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist (automatic transmission only), electronic locking rear differential, high... For 2011, the Xterra SE has been dropped, leaving three simplified trim levels: Xterra X, offered only with the 5-speed automatic. Xterra S, offered with either the 5-speed auto or a 6-speed manual. and Xterra PRO-4X, also available with either gearbox. The only available option is the PRO-4X leather package, which our test vehicle had and which gets you some quite comfortable front buckets with black leather and red stitching. The Xterra has far better steering feel and body control than it did when it debuted back in the 1990s.
