Hyundai has borrowed the Ford Escapes automated rear hatch and upped the ante slightly: Instead of waving a foot under the bumper, to alert a sensor, just walk up to the Santa Fe with the electronic key in your pocket, and maybe a double armload... This is Hyundais first power liftgate, and of course it operates by pushbutton, too. This has been Hyundais mantra since day one More for less. and heaven knows theres no shortage of features on this particular Santa Fe, an all-wheel-drive Limited model with the Ultimate Package. The price is a breath-taking $41,695. Then again, a Ford Edge with much the same equipment, including a similarly enormous skylight roof, costs five or six grand more yet (but has new adaptive safety systems, slightly more power and better gas... The Santa Fe is unique in that it comes in Medium and Large. ) The two rearmost seats could be reached via a pass-through between the two middle seats, or by scootching one of the middle seats forward and folding it down. Mariah Krystal Guzman, 25, of Colton could face more than 12 years in prison if convicted in the June 9, 2014, death of 31-year-old Erika Cuevas of San Jacinto. Update: A 72-year old woman driving in suburban Sacramento Sunday struck a minivan carrying Angela and Ken “KC” Osborn, their four children and a young niece. KC Osborn was pronounced dead on the scene and the couple’s youngest daughter was declared brain dead Tuesday night. Sacramento resident Regina Wander’s Hyundai Santa Fe crossed from her southbound lane on Wyda Way directly into oncoming traffic, ultimately striking the passenger side of the Osborn’s Chrysler minivan. Nagy reportedly did not sustain any injuries, and the Osborn’s niece received only scrapes and bruises. Angela Osborn and her other three children were all hospitalized. KC Osborn was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Michelle Osborn, aged 10, was placed on life support at the hospital but was pronounced brain dead on Tuesday. “My family and I have made the difficult decision to donate her organs to children in need,” Angela Osborn posted on Facebook Wednesday morning, “So at least something good can come out of this terrible, terrible, terrible, tragedy. It was initially believed that Wander had run a stop sign before striking the minivan, but Officer Jenna Berry of the CHP reported Tuesday evening that no stop sign or traffic light was involved.
