Four cars damaged in crash - Mount Desert Islander

BAR HARBOR — A four-car accident made Cottage Street look like the aftermath of a demolition derby Monday afternoon. All four cars were towed, but no one was seriously injured, police said. , was driving her 2007 Volkswagen Passat when it swerved across the street twice, striking parked cars. “She was very coherent when I spoke to her,” Officer Brad O’Neil of the Bar Harbor Police Department said. “Because there were no injuries other than her minor injuries, I don’t have to do a vehicle autopsy. Kohorn was reportedly parked on the north side of Cottage Street in front of the Criterion Theatre. “I determined that as soon as the car started up, it revved, and then it went into reverse, and she backed across the street and hit the parked car in front of Rite Aid,” O’Neil said. That car was a red 2011 GMC Terrain owned by Judy Driscoll, 68, of Hulls Cove, police said. Kohorn reportedly drove forward, away from the Terrain, back towards where she had been parked on the right side of the street, accelerating quickly. Then she made an abrupt turn to the left because there was a car parked there and came right across and struck another car, a 2015 Chevy sedan parked in front of the Thirsty Whale, O’Neil said. GM extending Chevy Equinox production at Canadian plant - Detroit Free Press

General Motors announced today it will invest $9. 1 million to extend production of the popular Chevrolet Equinox crossover on an auxiliary line in Oshawa, Ont. GM Canada President Steve Carlisle said the Consolidated production line at the Oshawa Assembly complex will remain in operation for an extra year until 2017. It had been scheduled to close next year. The Consolidated line operates in conjunction with the CAMI Assembly plant a few hours down the highway in Ingersoll, Ont. The plant also makes the GMC Terrain. Part of the investment announced today is to make changes to the body shop at the CAMI plant. "This new investment represents a very effective way for us to meet strong demand for the Chevrolet Equinox and it's positive news for our community," Carlisle said in a release. The Oshawa complex has received more bad news than good, of late, with GM's decision to end production of the Chevrolet Camaro in November. The next-generation Camaro will be built in the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant, and the move will result in the loss of 1,000 jobs in Oshawa. The Flex Line, another production line in Oshawa, makes the Buick Regal, the current-model Impala and the Cadillac XTS. Source: www.freep.com

2016 GMC Terrain First Look - Motor Trend

The new Terrain gains some minor exterior tweaks and will continue to come in four trim levels, including the more upmarket Denali model. Powertrain choices are unchanged from the pre-face-lifted Terrain and include a 182-hp, 2. 4-liter I-4 and a 301-hp, 3. 6-liter V-6. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive remains available in all but the SL trim level. Exterior changes include chrome-accented grilles in the SLE, SLT, and Denali grades, LED daytime running lights on higher trim levels, a power dome hood design, and revised front and rear fascia with chrome accents.
