Norfolk woman has faint hope missing husband's alive - The Virginian-Pilot
The black Ford F150 sitting in front of his Ocean View house. The surfboard leaning against a living room chair. The shirt, shoes and socks, neatly folded in the chair's seat. 3 after dropping off his wife for work as the nursing director at Lydia Roper Home. He was scheduled to go to a doctor's appointment, but as his wife, Julie Ann, would learn later, he didn't show. She didn't think much of it when her husband wasn't at the house. But by 8, she started to panic when she hadn't seen or heard from her husband, something that was out of character. "I just knew something was wrong," she said. So were his shirt, shoes and socks. Molohon used to be an avid surfer but hasn't hit the waves in five to seven years, and not since he met Julie Ann in 2010. There have been no signs since, and Julie Ann Molohon is starting to think: Her husband of two years is probably dead,... She celebrated his 63rd birthday on Thursday anyway. She gets a cake with his name on it, they go out to dinner, she hangs up birthday decorations that poke fun at the fact that he's older than she. "He loved it," she said, laughing, adding that even though Thursday wasn't for her husband, it was about him. Source: hamptonroads.com

Wyoming faces unique set of challenges to bolster attendance - Casper Star-Tribune Online
“I told my dad, ‘You won’t believe it. We’ve arrived and I’m driving a Ford F150,’” he said. Any Wyomingite will tell you there’s nothing better than exploring the Forever West’s open spaces — in a truck, more times than not — navigating roads nestled between mountains and world-renowned scenery. But driving for hours on those roads to attend a UW sporting event becomes demanding. “I can appreciate that because for me, I’ve gotten in my truck and I’ve driven around our state. UW faces a unique set of challenges in drawing fans to Laramie, making marketing and strategic planning paramount to bolstering attendance numbers. In addition to poor winter weather, Wyoming fans — who mostly live in the nation's least-populated state — tend to come from small towns spread across a wide area. Consider this: The 11 cities boasting full-member conference schools have an average population of 472,327. Laramie is the least-populated town at 32,081, markedly smaller than even No. 10 on the list: Logan, Utah (48,913). The upside is that as... Off-Road package - Ford F150 Forum
The rims you get are cool, skid plates, also the FX4 sticker and the rancho shocks are real rancho shocks made by rancho and you can order them right from rancho ford does not make those shocks, my Dad works for Ford and I asked him about them and he did a lot of asking around and was told over and over they are not manufactored by Ford, Ford buys them from rancho. I would like to replace them sooner or later tho because i am sure they are not the highest quality rancho shocks like i would like to have. Other than that the only other thing I have noticed between the FX4 and the 4x4 is the FX4 rides a little stiffer, not to much but enough to notice. I am very happy I bought the FX4.

Whats the difference between the fx4 offroad package and ...
Most 4x4 owners who use four-wheel-drive in their outdoor pursuits tend to modify their vehicles for better trail capability. The accessories they use typically come from the aftermarket, but many truck-makers are now offering options that you can buy (and finance) right off the showroom floor. Ford, for example, has developed the FX4 equipment group for F-150 and Ranger pickups. This package features larger tires and wheels, heavier-duty shock absorbers and other bolt-on accessories.
The FX4 option on the F-150 SuperCab we tested included LT265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires (just a tick over 31.5 inches tall), alloy wheels, Rancho shock absorbers, 3.55:1 axle gearing and extra skid plates. The package added $860 to the truck's base price (just over $30,000) but was definitely worth it.
Bought separately, these components would cost well over Ford's package price. The equipment seemed like an even better investment when we were off-road. The big Goodyears gave the truck excellent traction on dirt roads and sandy trails, while the shocks soaked up a lot of punishment without a hint of fade.
On the highway, however, the dirt-eating Goodyears were not as sure-footed and the shocks seemed better suited to off-road pounding, as they made the already firm-riding pickup feel a bit jittery. Plus, the taller stance of the FX4 package tires meant a higher climb to get behind the wheel and a bit more work if you're in waders or muddy boots. Bottom line: Choose the FX4 option only if you're willing to trade some convenience and on-road ride quality for solid off-road capability.
We've traveled many miles in Ford's venerable half-ton, and we've always found it to be a well-designed, no-frills, hard-working truck.
Ford's options for the F-150 go far beyond the FX4 system. Those who trailer should order the 260-hp, 5.4-liter V-8, as its 350 ft-lb of torque is well suited to the tow capacity. If passenger room is a priority, we'd recommend the four-door SuperCrew model, with its SUV-like seating capacity. However, the SuperCrew comes with only a 5.5-foot-long bed. For a good mix of cargo space and passenger room, the SuperCab version is a good compromise. Rear-seat legroom is a bit snug for adults, but it's available with either a 6.5- or 8-foot bed.

A Closer Look at the 2015 Ford F150 FX4 Details - Torque News
The recently released 2015 Ford F150 Appearance Guide revealed that the FX4 Off-Road package will return for the next generation F150, but the new FX4 will be marketed in a new way with a bigger emphasis on off-road performance for every 2015 model sold.
One of my favorite trimlines for the 2015 Ford F150 is the FX4 package and I had hoped to see it return for the 2015 F150. The current (2014) FX4 features a unique look with black cues from front to rear, presenting a dark, sporty look that I love. I had a 2013 FX4 test truck in dark red with black accents and I absolutely loved how it. The current FX4 F150 is, in my opinion, one of the best looking trucks on sale today.
The good news is that there will be a 2015 Ford F150 FX4 – the bad news is that it has changed from having a heavy impact on the appearance, now serving as more of a true off road performance package.
Introducing the 2015 Ford F150 FX4While the FX4 package for the current 2014 F150 was a trimline of its own, the 2015 FX4 name is applied to an off road package that is available across the entire model range. Whether you are purchasing a 2015 F150 in XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch or Platinum form, so long as it has four wheel drive – you can get the new (Dealer Code 55A) FX4 package.
The 2015 Ford F150 FX4 package begins on the outside with a unique FX4 logo on the rear of the bedside but that is the only aesthetic aspect of the new FX4 package. What matters with the 2015 F150 FX4 package is that is includes Hill Descent Control, an electronic locking rear axle, off road tuned shock absorbers and underbody skid plates – a quartet of features that will help make any new 4x4 F150 better in almost any condition, be it a muddy off roading excursion or simply driving through a massive winter snow storm.
While the 2015 Ford F150 FX4 models won’t offer the same dark styling that I like so much about the current FX4, the trucks fitted with the new package should allow owners to push the new F150 to all new off roading levels. The 2015 F150 is expected to be the most fuel efficient and the most capable – it sounds as though the new FX4 will extend those advanced capabilities well beyond paved, dry roads.
Here’s Hoping for a New FX4 Appearance PackageThe features on the outside of the 2014 Ford F150 FX4 that I liked to much are part of the FX4 Appearance Package, which added a bunch of black trim inside and out. On the outside, the appearance package added 4 inch black tubular side step bars, unique black fender and tailgate badging, dark stripes along the sides of the truck and across the hood and black 20” rims – all of which worked with the standard black grille and headlight bezels to create a great looking sport themed truck. On the inside, the FX4 Appearance Package added a unique steering wheel, uniquely painted surfaces through the cabin, a flow through center console and unique leather sport seats which - when combined with the exterior goodies – was worth every cent of the $2,400 upcharge.
The FX4 package will be more functional than ever and after falling in love with the look of the current F150 FX4 appearance, I have my fingers crossed to see a similar appearance option offered for the 2015 Ford F150.
