The system features four door speakers, a dash-mounted center speaker, and a compact subwoofer mounted behind the rear seats. I could clearly make out music notes at low volumes that were easy to hold a conversation over, but the system sounded relatively clean at the top of its volume range, as well. I’ve read that Ford has the same interest as some other OEMs of late, seeking to create sound systems that do more with less — so, less powerful amp, less resource-intensive speakers, and lighter-weight components. There are JBL systems like this in some Toyotas , and the Nissan Juke’s Rockford Fosgate system is of the same M. O. The result in all of the above is usually a system that sounds clear enough for most listeners at high volume settings, even if... Impassioned pleas for changes that will help the lives of boys and men of color were made at a state hearing held Friday at Hartnell College in Salinas. They were there to listen and to give testimony at the State Assembly Select Committee on the Status of Boys & Men of Color in California. Some 20 bills have been signed by the governor to benefit programs that affect poverty, health care and the arrest and incarceration rate of men and boys of color. The hearing was co-chaired by Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer, the select committee chairman, and Assemblyman Luis Alejo, a select committee member and Latino Caucus chairman. Though many hearing speakers presented positive information about Monterey County and Salinas programs that are helping improved the lives of boys and men of color, the statistics remain grim. Systems such as law enforcement, health care, job creation, immigration and education need to change. Brian Goldstein for the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice questioned why Monterey County is building 120-bed juvenile when there are just 65 youth incarcerated in the current hall. Angie Junck of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center slammed local law enforcement for collaborating with federal immigration officials. 2015 Volkswagen CC 2.0T R Line - CNET

The Volkswagen CC. Almost inarguably the best looking thing they make. Let's drive this 2015 CC with the R line trim and a third pedal and check this out. Here's the problem with the CC. It's a member of the Volkswagen product line that is very heavy on four door cars in a U. S. market that is very heavy on crossover. Now, the CC of course, comes at you as a premium vehicle. So you're not likely to pull up next to another one of these at a stoplight. The other problem is, of course, if you want the basic function of this vehicle and can live without the swoopy looks, you're gonna look at a Passat for $6000 or $7000 less. Now inside our CC, things are a little disturbingly common with the Passat and the Jetta. There's certain benefits to having a common look and feel to your cars until they make this high trim one feel too much Like the low trim one. This is going to be the first car this year I've reviewed that I can say that about. This is standard with navigation and backup camera, but blessedly, there's not much of it. The tech that's missing from this car is like a History Channel piece from the year 2005. It has no entertainment app support like Pandora or Aha. No driver assist tech like blind spot, adaptive cruise, or lane capeing, and even the nav on this r-line model doesn't have traffic. Source: www.cnet.com
