Joseph McClendon, 21, was found dead March 28 behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer, parked running near Henry Ruff and Annapolis in Westland. At a preliminary examination in Westland 18th District Court for two of three men charged in connection with the murder, attorneys stipulated to the autopsy report from the Wayne County Medical Examiner. The report found that McClendon died from multiple gunshot wounds — a dozen shots that hit him in largely on his right side — in the arm, forearm, chest, back leg and hip, along with his left hand. The testimony was that police had recovered approximately eight shell casings on the ground near the passenger side of the vehicle — half nine millimeter, half 20-caliber. Two Inkster men, Arlandus Nolen II (Jr. ), 18, and Daveion Dix, 19, are both charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and felony firearm. Nolen’s father, Arlandus Nolen Sr. , 39, of Roseville, is charged with felony accessory after the fact, being a felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm and being a habitual offender. Police said Nolan Sr. has two prior felony convictions — carjacking in 1997 and being a prisoner in possession of a weapon in 2003. Sandoval leads Summit track ladies to victory in Sunkist League - Fontana Herald-News

This spring, Sandoval helped the Summit ladies finish in a three-way tie (along with Fontana and Grand Terrace) for the Sunkist League championship, and in the league's individual finals on May 6, she triumphed in two individual events. Sandoval achieved personal best times while taking first place in the 1600 meters (5:07. 58) and the 3200 (10:56. 14). She said that participating in track is helpful to her, but still, she emphasized that "cross country is my sport. "When I first started out, I didn't think I would be a runner, but I won my first race and I never looked back. Chioma Bush took first place in both the triple jump and long jump, while Sinclair Watson was No. 1 in the 100 and 200. A 2003 Ford van was traveling northbound on Colorado 287 when it stopped in the northbound lane due to a sandstorm that severely limited... When the Ford stopped, it was struck from the rear by a 2014 Freightliner semi-tractor pulling a loaded trailer. The Freightliner overrode the back of the van and both vehicles traveled northbound after impact until the front of the van struck the rear of a trailer being pulled by a 2002 Freightliner semi-tractor. The van and Freightliner came to rest on their wheels when the van struck the rear of the trailer. The Freightliner’s trailer was rear-ended by a 2005 International semi-tractor and trailer, which caused the 2002 Freightliner and trailer to jackknife on the roadway. The rear of the International’s trailer was then struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 pulling a trailer. The drivers of the three Freightliners, identified as 52-year-old Michael Goodson of Yuma, Arizona, 49-year-old David Allides of Tomball, Texas, and 36-year-old Luis Almanza of Brighton, Colorado, were all wearing their seatbelts and suffered no...
