Joseph McClendon, 21, was found dead March 28 behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer, parked running near Henry Ruff and Annapolis in Westland. At a preliminary examination in Westland 18th District Court for two of three men charged in connection with the murder, attorneys stipulated to the autopsy report from the Wayne County Medical Examiner. The report found that McClendon died from multiple gunshot wounds — a dozen shots that hit him in largely on his right side — in the arm, forearm, chest, back leg and hip, along with his left hand. The testimony was that police had recovered approximately eight shell casings on the ground near the passenger side of the vehicle — half nine millimeter, half 20-caliber. Two Inkster men, Arlandus Nolen II (Jr. ), 18, and Daveion Dix, 19, are both charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and felony firearm. Nolen’s father, Arlandus Nolen Sr. , 39, of Roseville, is charged with felony accessory after the fact, being a felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm and being a habitual offender. Police said Nolan Sr. has two prior felony convictions — carjacking in 1997 and being a prisoner in possession of a weapon in 2003.
