It complemented Iacocca’s Italian heritage and led him to a grand old Italian marque, Officine Alfieri Maserati of Modena, now under the control of expatriate Argentine Alejandro DeTomaso who was in the Italian sports luxury car business. The two men knew each other, having collaborated in the 1970s during Iacocca’s Ford days on the Ford-powered, mid-engined DeTomaso Pantera sports car sold by Lincoln-Mercury dealers. Maserati’s history reached back to 1926, similar to Chrysler’s, but its reputation was based more on racing success than road cars. It began seriously marketing passenger cars after the Second World War, although it hung on in grand prix Formula One racing until 1957. It concentrated on grand touring cars such as the Mistral, Khamsin and Mexico, and in spite of limited... Iacocca wanted some of that magic for Chrysler, and for $2. 8 million the corporation bought five per cent of Maserati. I had a Pioneer touchscreen DoubleDin CD DVD player installed that has Bluetooth, mp3 player, sd card reader, USB and aux outlets, backup camera and navigation. Also new Pioneer speakers installed. The stereo cost $1500. New Xenon HD LED headlights were installed, they cost $200. It also has brand new Faulkner tires I paid $1000 for. Brand new battery is installed. The mini-SUV market — so-called "city 'utes" that are smaller than the likes of Honda CR-V and Ford Escape and fit into tight urban confines — didn't exist in the U. S. a few years ago. But Mini is a mini brand, bought sparingly by people with tastes outside the mainstream. Still, it was the best-selling Mini in 2014. Nissan's Juke is considered a mini-SUV by some, and it's been on sale since late 2010 as a 2011.
