Stolen truck leads to local business - Daily Journal Online

On Tuesday afternoon sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 p. m. Jim Hall had his green 1997 Chevy Silverado stolen from his workplace off Tenth Street in Park Hills. On Thursday morning at about 8:15 a. m. the Park Hills Police were dispatched after a person spotted a Chevrolet Suburban with the wheels and tires from the stolen truck. The caller was on St. Joe Drive, but the suspect SUV had first been spotted in Farmington. Officers were headed to Casey’s when the person called back and said the suspect vehicle had left and was headed down St. Joe Drive toward Desloge. The driver or occupants reportedly told police they purchased the wheels the day before at Scrap Solutions, which just happened to be where they worked. Source: dailyjournalonline.com

Bay City woman who injured boyfriend in drunken driving crash pleads no contest - MLive.com

BAY CITY, MI — A 27-year-old Bay City woman police allege injured her boyfriend in a drunken driving crash has accepted a plea deal, but is unlikely to see the inside of a prison cell. 10, appeared before Bay County Chief Circuit Judge Kenneth W. Schmidt and pleaded no contest to one count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing serious injury. In exchange, the prosecution agreed to dismiss one count of operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license causing serious injury. In a prior Cobbs hearing, Schmidt indicated Hamilton would not serve prison time on her initial sentence. Police reports, contained in court files, state that about 8:38 p. m. on Monday, May 11, Bay County Sheriff's deputies responded to a one-car crash on Salzburg Road near Baxman Road in Monitor Township. Sitting in the passenger seat was 32-year-old David C. Luepnitz, with swollen eyes and bleeding from facial lacerations, court records show. A short time later, Hamilton approached deputies, asking to speak with Luepnitz, her boyfriend. Hamilton smelled of booze and initially denied being the Silverado's driver, according to police reports. When deputies told Hamilton there were numerous witnesses who could identify the driver, she admitted to having been behind the wheel, court records show. Source: www.mlive.com
