It’s no secret that the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is one of our all-time favorite pickup trucks. From the 411hp 6. 2L V-8, 35-inch tires, and off-road-tuned suspension to the comfy leather seats and commanding controls, the Ford Raptor has little competition from the 1?2-ton OE truck market, especially if desert two-track is your favorite... Nonetheless, a common misconception about the capable Raptor is that it has long-travel suspension. It’s true that the 11 inches of front and 12 inches of factory rear wheel travel are more than what you’ll find on a typical 1?2-ton truck. You drop your zero-mile ’13 Ford Raptor off at JD Fabrication in Escondido, California, for a complete six-month suspension, chassis, and interior makeover. The crew at JD Fabrication quickly went to work and stripped the suspension from the brand new truck and gutted the interior. Refreshing or Revolting: 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor - Motor Trend

While it may share some elements with the standard 2015 Ford F-150 , the new 2017 Raptor builds upon the platform with a purpose-built frame that features more high-strength steel, making it the strongest F-150 in the lineup. It's thanks to the use of aluminum in the body that the new model has a weight savings of more than 500 pounds, which will help increase performance output over the outgoing model. Compared to the current Raptor, the new model features a more rugged appearance, from the new aggressive front fascia with an updated grille and light design to the sculpted, protruding wheel arches. In the rear, Ford utilizes a new rear window design, which gives the truck a more modern feel with its one-pane design. Further strengthening the off-road capabilities of the 2017 Ford Raptor, the automaker has made the body six inches wider, added 17-inch wheels featuring BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires, and LED lighting and camera technology for improved... For the 2017 model year, Ford will replace the Raptor's 6. 2-liter V-8 for the second-gen 3. 5-liter EcoBoost V-6, adding to weight savings and increased performance.
