Take a moment to notice and appreciate all the many small businesses — and large ones, too — started by immigrants. As we celebrate America, we also celebrate what America has meant, and continues to mean, to immigrants from throughout the world. A few years ago, I toured the Flatbush neighborhood in Brooklyn, the New York City borough where my father grew up. My dad, Alex, was the son of hard-working, ambitious immigrants from Eastern Europe. Like most immigrants, they came to this shore seeking a better life for their children — more economic opportunity, more political and religious freedom. Walking around my father's old neighborhood was like taking a trip back in time, except the immigrants I saw were from the Caribbean instead of Eastern Europe, black instead of white, and spoke with a different accent. Some immigrants come here to save their lives, like child refugees from Honduras or gays fleeing persecution, or oppressed women seeking education and careers. The hot rod from 'Grease' goes up for auction - USA TODAY

The famous hot rod's competition from the 1978 movie Grease is going on the acution block later this month with a raft of other famous Hollywood cars. The car was featured in a riveting race scene with leading role Danny, played by John Travolta, up against his arch nemesis Craterface, played by Dennis Stewart. Fittingly, Stewart plays the leader of The Scorpions gang in the film and drives Hell's Chariot in a high-speed chase with Travolta. Even after inflicting some damage on Travolta's car to get ahead, Stewart ultimately loses the race and his chance at the leading lady Sandy, played by Olivia Newton-John. The car features Newton-John's signature on the dashboard. Hollywood Legends, set for June 26 to June 27, marks the largest automotive collection the auction house has ever offered at one time.
