STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- Investigators have confirmed that a man found dead in Crawford County robbed a Strongsville gas station hours earlier. Michael Collins Jr. , 34, of Lakewood was found dead in the passenger seat of a 2013 Jeep Patriot just after 2 a. m. Monday in Bucyrus. The driver told investigators that Collins committed suicide, but his death remains under investigation, Cvetan said. An initial investigation revealed that Collins robbed a Shell gas station on Royalton Road near Interstate 71 shortly before he died, Strongsville Lt. John Janowski said. Collins left in a Jeep driven by an unidentified woman. It's unclear if that woman is the same person who was with Collins in Bucyrus, Janowski said. Kristle Kendle, 34, of Lakewood was with Collins in Bucyrus and told authorities that he committed suicide. Investigators found a gun inside the Jeep but are still investigating.
